Job Description

Wilkes University invites applications for the position of Director of International Enrollment & Student Success. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced higher education professional to provide strategic leadership for the recruitment, enrollment, transition, retention, and overall success of international students at Wilkes. Reporting to the Vice President of Enrollment Management, the Director will serve as a key member of the Enrollment Management team and collaborate closely with Academic Affairs, Student Success, Financial Aid, Residence Life, Athletics, and other campus partners to create a seamless and supportive experience for international students from initial inquiry through graduation. The Director will lead initiatives that strengthen Wilkes University's international enrollment strategy while ensuring that prospective and enrolled international students receive a high level of service and support.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing and implementing strategies to grow international enrollment and establish sustainable recruitment pipelines. Building and maintaining relationships with international recruitment partners and providing appropriate training, communication, and enrollment support. Serving as a Designated School Official (DSO) with responsibility for federal compliance related to F-1 students. Serving as the primary SEVIS Coordinator for the processing, issuance, and maintenance of Form I-20s for incoming and currently enrolled international students. Maintaining accurate and timely SEVIS records and monitoring international student compliance. Proactively identifying and supporting students who may be at risk of falling out of status. Creating initiatives focused on international student retention, persistence, engagement, and graduation. Coordinating with campus partners to support international student arrival, orientation, housing, registration, health insurance, and other onboarding needs. Ensuring prospective students receive timely and accurate information regarding admission, financial documentation, visa requirements, enrollment, and arrival procedures. Creating a seamless transition from admission and I-20 issuance through arrival, orientation, enrollment, and continued student success. Serving as an active member of University committees and contributing to institutional planning and strategic initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field. At least five years of related professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Previous PDSO or DSO experience with demonstrated SEVIS compliance responsibilities. Knowledge of international enrollment and recruitment, F-1 immigration regulations, SEVIS compliance, I-20 processing, and international student success, retention, and engagement. Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, customer service, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, colleagues, and campus partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree or advanced degree. Experience with higher education admissions practices, international recruitment markets, student information systems, and campus resources supporting international students. Why Join Wilkes?
