Based on education, experience, and qualifications Position Summary AMOM is establishing a new Office of Academic and Institutional Development and is seeking a highly experienced Director of Academic and Institutional Development . The Director will oversee academic quality, faculty performance, curriculum development, accreditation, regulatory compliance, institutional effectiveness, new-program development, and the school's long-term transition toward becoming a degree-granting college. This is a senior academic leadership and administrative position. It is not primarily a classroom teaching position. Required Qualifications Applicants must meet the following requirements: Master's or doctoral degree in Education, Higher Education Administration, Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, Institutional Management, or a closely related field. At least five years of management or administrative experience at an accredited college or university. Demonstrated experience in academic administration, institutional development, faculty supervision, or academic program management. Strong working knowledge of accreditation processes and standards. Familiarity with ACCSC or another institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Familiarity with U.S. Department of Education requirements, state educational regulations, accreditation compliance, and institutional reporting. Demonstrated ability to design and develop certificate, diploma, associate-degree, or other college-level academic programs. Experience preparing accreditation applications, self-evaluation reports, compliance reports, policies, curricula, and supporting documentation. Strong leadership, writing, research, organization, and project-management skills. Applicants who do not possess the required graduate degree and five years of college or university management experience may not be considered. Primary Responsibilities Establish and lead the Office of Academic and Institutional Development. Oversee the quality and consistency of all academic programs. Supervise, support, and evaluate instructors and academic personnel. Establish faculty performance standards and evaluation procedures. Review lesson plans, syllabi, instructional materials, assessments, and student learning outcomes. Lead curriculum development, curriculum mapping, program evaluation, and continuous academic improvement. Design new certificate, diploma, associate-degree, and future degree programs. Prepare accreditation applications, self-evaluation reports, exhibits, and supporting documentation. Coordinate institutional accreditation activities, site visits, renewals, and responses to findings. Maintain compliance with accreditation standards, state requirements, and applicable federal education requirements. Develop academic policies, faculty handbooks, student handbooks, catalogs, and institutional procedures. Maintain faculty qualification records, including resumes, transcripts, licenses, certifications, and evaluations. Develop institutional effectiveness and student-outcome assessment systems. Coordinate strategic planning for the school's transition into a degree-granting college. Advise school leadership regarding accreditation, academic expansion, regulatory compliance, and institutional development. Preferred Experience Direct experience working with ACCSC. Experience leading an accreditation application or reaffirmation process. Experience preparing an institution for an accreditation site visit. Experience developing associate-degree or bachelor's-degree programs. Experience with institutional effectiveness, outcomes assessment, and continuous improvement. Experience working with state higher-education or proprietary-school regulators. Knowledge of career education, allied health, massage therapy, acupuncture, or complementary healthcare education. Experience with online and hybrid education and learning-management systems. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is an experienced college or university administrator who understands how to move an institution from career-school operations toward accredited, degree-granting college status. This individual must be able to manage both high-level institutional strategy and detailed compliance projects, including academic quality, faculty supervision, program design, accreditation documentation, institutional policies, and regulatory reporting.
