Job Description

About MDMC:
MDMC is a non profit organization that supports Deaf, DeafBlind, DeafPlus and Hard of Hearing (DDPDBHH) people. We work to make life better for our community.
Job Summary:
The Development Coordinator helps MDMC raise money and thank supporters. This person keeps donor information organized, helps with fundraising events, and works with staff, volunteers, and community members.
Responsibilities include:
Keep Donor Information Organized
  • Update donor records in the computer system
  • Make sure donor information is correct
  • Track donations and create simple reports. Thank and Support Donors
  • Send thank you letters and messages
  • Answer donor questions
  • Help donors feel appreciated and connected to MDMC Help with Fundraising events
  • Support events like Deaf Iftar, LaunchGood, Give 8/28, Giving Tuesday and Give to the Max Day
  • Help with guest lists, sign-ups, and event details
  • Follow up with donors after events.
Reports and Office Tasks:
  • Track donations and fundraising progress.
  • Keep files organized and private
  • Help with grant paperwork and other office tasks
Teamwork:
  • Works with MDMC staff, board members, and volunteers
  • Help with meetings, events, and community outreach What we are looking for: Deaf candidates preferred, however, hearing can apply and will be considered if no Deaf candidates are available.
Required Skills:
  • Good communication and writing skills.
  • Friendly and respectful customer service.
  • Able to stay organized and meet deadlines.
  • Able to work on your own and with a team.
  • Skilled using computers, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Experience helping raise money or support fundraising.
  • Support MDMC's mission and values.
  • Willingness to learn about Deaf culture and American Sign Language (AS). Preferred skills
  • Can communicate fluently using American Sign Language ( ASL)
  • Knows about Deaf Culture.
  • Has worked with fundraising or donor relations before.
