Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit Academic Affairs ("AA") is headed by the Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs who serves as the institution's Chief Academic Officer ("CAO") and is responsible for administering academic policies. AA is comprised of each of the university's colleges, schools, and libraries, along with other academic support and administrative units, to include Learner Operations, Research, Innovation and Engagement, Institutional Planning, Assessment and Research, and Global Affairs. Academic Affairs works collaboratively to strengthen ECU's culture of academic excellence in line with our mission to be a national model for student success, public service, and regional transformation. The Undergraduate Admissions Office is the primary point of contact for a traditional first year student, transfer, or non-traditional adult student seeking admission to East Carolina University. The office is responsible for identifying and recruiting potential applicants with outstanding academic ability and potential and assisting in the application process to completion. Primary Purpose of Position The Assistant Director of Transfer Recruitment and Partnerships provides leadership for transfer recruitment, partnership development, and specialized student enrollment initiatives within the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. This position oversees transfer recruitment operations, supervises professional staff, and collaborates with campus and external partners to strengthen transfer pathways and support institutional enrollment goals. Working collaboratively with the Associate Director of Regional Recruitment and Key Market Strategy, the Assistant Director serves as the subject matter expert for transfer recruitment by providing data-informed recommendations, identifying partnership and recruitment opportunities, and supporting the development and implementation of recruitment strategies for transfer, readmit, second-degree, and other specialized student populations. The position partners with Undergraduate Admissions leaders, team members, and campus partners to deliver coordinated recruitment, communication, processing, and engagement experiences that support transfer student success and institutional enrollment goals. Minimum Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Master's degree; or will accept in substitution, a bachelor's degree and 2 years of professional experience in university admissions, student recruitment, or academic advising. Proficiency with higher education CRM software. Exceptional public speaking skills. A deep understanding of transfer articulation agreements. Position requires a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of the date of hire. A valid driver's license must be maintained as a condition of employment. Ability to rent vehicle. License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Master's degree in Higher Education, Counseling, or a related field. Knowledge of post-secondary transfer credit practices. Professional experience to include transfer-centric roles. Strong project management skills.
