The Assistant Softball Coach is responsible for assisting in all facets of the Softball program, specifically the teaching and instruction of softball fundamentals under the direction of the head coach. This individual will support the Head Coach in planning and executing individuals for the fall, games and film preparation, recruiting, administrative tasks, scheduling games, practice planning, and fostering a positive team environment.Expected Date of Employment:

Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in the supervision of all activities related to the student athletes: ? Provide specific skill instruction and teaching of the fundamentals of softball ? Provide leadership and support of student athletes ? Provide in-game assistance to the coaching staff, as needed. ? Provide academic, personal, and professional mentoring to student-athletes:
- Support and model to student-athletes the NCAA's Life in the Balance initiative
- Monitor the academic progress of team members in keeping with the standards of King University, NCAA and Conference Carolinas
- Athletic conditioning and training as required, including direct oversight of off-season conditioning o Provide opportunities for spiritual growth of team members
- Assist in the oversight of many administrative functions of the softball team: o Comply with all NCAA and Conference Carolinas rules and regulations o Attend clinics and or meetings for continuing education or as required by the NCAA and Conference Carolinas
- Assist in hiring and directly oversee student workers including manager, statistician, scorekeepers, and student trainer: o Create opportunities for advancement in the field of intercollegiate athletics o Provide valuable skills and experience

o Raise money to supplement the softball budget in coordination with the Communications and Advancement departments- Meal Plans o Plan food for all away trips
