Dean of Career & Technical Education Print Apply Dean of Career & Technical Education Salary $83,272.00 - $123,869.00 Annually Location Beeville Job Type Professional Division Workforce Department Workforce Opening Date 09/14/2026 Closing Date 10/30/2026 11:59 PM Central FLSA Exempt Description Benefits Questions Essential Functions The Dean of Career and Technical Education (CTE) serves as the lead CTE training officer, supervising the development, implementation, communication, and evaluation of the curriculum and providing oversight for the master course list in all CTE programs. Job Duties and Responsibilities Build and foster collaborative programs and initiatives such as articulation and training agreements by actively engaging school districts and industry partners for career and technical education services. Provide direction to CTE division chairs and directors, and credential full-time and part-time instructors as per approved procedures. Supervise CTE division chairs and directors in ensuring appropriate workloads, office hours, and evaluations. Oversee the recommendation of CTE faculty for continued employment. Assist CTE division coordinators and directors with the completion of annual course and program assessments and program reviews. Work with the Registrar to certify student completion of CTE programs with Degrees/Marketable Skills, Level I and II Certificates, and Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degrees. Oversee the development of CTE course schedules. Contribute updates and revisions to the annual catalog as needed. Formulate and maintain the annual CTE budget and assume responsibility for departments operating within the approved budget. Work with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation and oversee program-specific accreditation activities (i.e., Nursing, Radiologic Technology, Dental Hygiene, etc.). Supervise and support all CTE program advisory committees. Oversee the management of the Carl D. Perkins Grant and related CTE grants. Update CTE programs on the WECM (Workforce Education Course Manual) site of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Process substitution forms for CTE degrees. Represent the College by participating in appropriate national, state, and local councils, committees, boards, and organizations. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education. Three (3) years' experience in higher education, with demonstrated progressive supervisory experience. Preferred Qualifications Doctorate in a related field. Five (5) years' experience in higher education, with demonstrated progressive supervisory responsibility. Must have excellent communication skills, knowledge of accrediting agency guidelines such as THECB and SACSCOC, and specialized knowledge of one or more areas within the Academics Division. Experience teaching in a higher education/community college environment required.
