Admissions Assistant (Full-Time, Temporary) Del Mar College - 4.2 Corpus Christi, TX Job Details Full-time $13.29 - $16.95 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications Writing skills Customer inquiry handling Decision making Data entry Full Job Description Department Student Enrollment Center Position Type Non-Exempt Employment Status Temporary Salary $13.29 - $16.95 Open Date 05/15/2026 Close Date 05/29/2026 Open Until Filled No Position Summary Information Job Description Summary • This position requires flexibility to work at any Del Mar College campus location, and work any shift (morning or afternoon), to provide adequate coverage of office business hours. • This position is under the direction of the Assistant Director of Admissions in the Student Enrollment Center and is responsible for participating in a variety of responsible, technical and clerical duties related to the Admission's Office. Responsible for interacting directly with students, prospective students and the community regarding admissions requirements. Responsible for handling international student admissions, determining residency, assisting students with the application process, performing data entry of student applications and admissions documents, and performing all academic, early college programs and special programs admissions functions. Works closely with faculty, chairs, staff, and continuing education staff to ensure all admissions functions are performed to allow students to register. Minimum Qualifications One (1) year of advanced study or training past the high school diploma or GED equivalency AND three (3) years related experience to include: admissions/registration for education courses, computer-based data entry, and/or office related customer service. - OR - Four (4) years related experience to include: admissions/registration for education courses, computer-based data entry, and/or office related customer service. Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Knowledge of general office policies and procedures. Ability to operate general office equipment including document scanners, copiers, printers. Proficiency in computer-based data entry. Demonstrate effective communication skills in public, in person and in writing. Ability to demonstrate high energy, attention to detail, and the ability to organize effectively. Ability to relate successfully with students and staff of various cultural, social or educational backgrounds. Demonstrate ability to use judgement, discretion, and decision-making skills in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues. Demonstrate ability to problem solve by questioning, organizing, researching, analyzing, processing and interpreting information. Ability to work independently and as a team member. Ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities. Ability to learn and adhere to College policies and procedures. Preferred Qualifications Higher Education experience. Proficient in the use of Ellucian/ Colleague software or other student information system and with Microsoft Office applications. Job Duties Job Duty Complete and maintain electronic student and prospective student files and/or deleting records as required; and maintain integrity of student data. Maintain current knowledge of federal and internal regulations such as the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Coordinating Board's Texas Success Initiative. Exercise good judgment and tact. Provide information on college policies, procedures, standards, and requirements where applicable. Job Duty Evaluate admissions applications, received via ApplyTexas or paper format, for residency status and assign the appropriate residency classification for tuition purposes. Utilize Datatel Colleague, DMC's student information system, daily to perform data entry to process admissions applications as well as incoming student transcripts, test scores to include the Texas Success Initiative, bacterial meningitis records and all miscellaneous documents needed to complete a student's file for academic, early college, and special program type courses. Utilize Etrieve, DMC 's document imaging system, to index, review and maintain relevant documents in student records. Utilize Qless, DMC's virtual check in system, to place students in line or to summon students waiting to be seen by an Admissions representative. Job Duty Assist international students by serving as the first point of contact and assisting with the completion of the international checklist to obtain an I-20 for an F1 Student Visa. Maintain current knowledge of international student admissions protocols and policies. Job Duty Work day, evening and weekend hours as needed to support admissions and registration initiatives and special events throughout all College campuses and centers. Participate in various events, new student orientations, registration events to assist with processing of Admissions documents. Job Duty Maintain communications with prospective students' admissions inquiries via email and other related electronic methods. Provide excellent customer service and assist students, prospective students, faculty, staff and community with Admissions inquiries in person, via telephone, and email support. Establish and maintain good public relations with faculty, staff, students, and the community at large. Work closely with various Student Services, IT and Early College Programs departments. Job Duty Open and route mail. Assist with mailings. Stuff envelopes, mail/email schedules, receipts, and other information requested by students, faculty and staff. Job Duty Additional related duties may be assigned.
