Job Description
Overview The Utility Technicians III are responsible for the maintenance and operation of the water distribution system and the wastewater collection system. Employees must remain in compliance with TCEQ and other applicable laws and regulations while working within the scope of their position. Responsibilities Repair and maintain water distribution and wastewater collection systems while operating backhoes and large excavation equipment Apply knowledge of water and wastewater materials, fittings, specifications, and tolerances to complete installation, repair, and maintenance activities Train employees on CDL requirements, equipment operation, wastewater system maintenance, cleaning, CCTV operations, and AMR component installation and maintenance Review and interpret maps, plans, and drawings to support construction, maintenance, and repair activities Protect public health, water quality, and safety by following TCEQ standards for construction, repair, maintenance, disinfection, trench safety, confined space entry, and traffic control Coordinate installation of well point systems, bypass pumps, commercial and residential meters, and related infrastructure Investigate and help resolve issues within water distribution and wastewater collection systems in the absence of a crew leader Create work orders and document labor, materials, equipment, and completed work in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Coordinate job site activities with engineers, construction inspectors, City departments, contractors, and customers while providing quality customer service Perform additional duties as assigned Position Type and Typical Hours of Work Non-Exempt - Full-Time - 40-hour work week

- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement

- High School Diploma/GED
- Three (3) years of experience Licenses and Certifications Required
- A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hiring Any one of the following licenses at time of hire:
- TCEQ Class D Water, Class D Wastewater, Class I Collections, or Class D Distribution Employment Testing Employment is contingent on passing any post-offer pre-employment screening as listed below:
