Job Summary Responsible for the oversight of admissions functions for the district office. Provides leadership and supervision in all aspects of the admission process monitoring receipt and processing of official transcripts, test scores, records imaging, and other admission documents, ensuring consistency, efficiency and alignment with institutional policies and procedures. Collaborates directly with the Registrar in leadership and management of process in System Admission and Records Office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Serve as liaison to the colleges regarding institutional admission processes. Assist in processing fresh academic start applications and oversee the Special Admissions applicants' process for the institution. Provide support in interpreting institutional and state policy and procedures regarding admission issues. Establish and publish admission application deadlines. Monitor admissions mailbox and respond to inquiries from students, parents, and third parties regarding admissions. Ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines regarding admission documents. Assist with the Texas Common Admissions Application process and work with department data analyst to identify data issues and problem resolution. Assist in maintaining the student record automated systems (Texas Common Application, electronic transcript network, student information system, imaging) and software upgrades. Hire, train, evaluate and supervise employees. Coordinate with third party transcript evaluation companies regarding transcript documents. Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience Bachelor's degree required 3 years directly related work experience required; including in-depth knowledge of Student Services Licensing & Certification Valid Texas Driver License Special Skills MS Office Programs Information Management Systems Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Rules & Regulations Data & Statistical Analysis Competencies Delivering High Quality Work Accepting Responsibility Serving Customers Supporting Organizational Goals Driving Continuous Improvement Acting with Integrity Thinking Critically Managing Change Communicating Effectively Working Conditions General Office. Must be able to perform all job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations; remain in a stationary position during shift; move items weighing up to 25 pounds; position self to operate job equipment; apply established protocols in a timely manner. Must access, input and retrieve information from technology devices; communicate with others to accomplish job requirements. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
