Job Description

Responsibilities :
This position is responsible for providing financial aid program/application counseling and guidance to student applicants and families both locally and at the off-campus technical center.
Qualifications :
Applicant must have a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of financial aid experience. School Certifying Official certification preferred or required within 6 months. Computer skills with Microsoft Office and Jenzabar financial aid module (or comparable financial aid management system). Knowledge of VA education benefits and SCO responsibilities, or ability to obtain SCO certification and veteran's appeals as needed. Knowledge of Title IV Federal Financial Aid Programs. Ability to read and interpret Federal Regulations. Ability to write policy and procedure. Must relate well to students in need of financial assistance, and collaborate professionally and respectfully with financial aid colleagues and supervisors. Must have the ability to make public presentations. Must be able to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and make decisions regarding application of federal as well as PJC policy concerning financial aid, including in the absence of the Director at times.
Salary :
The annual salary for this position is $58,709 - $71,596 and the actual starting salary will be dependent upon education and experience of the chosen candidate.
Fringe Benefits :
This position covers health insurance at 100% for employee. Additional optional coverages include dental, vision, AD&D, life insurance, and long- and short-term disability. Other benefits include retirement under the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, accrued sick leave, vacation, paid holidays, and an employee reimbursement/dependent scholarship program. Health benefits require a 60-day employment period.
