Athletic Director Salt Lake Academy Salt Lake City, Utah Position Overview Salt Lake Academy is seeking an exceptional, mission-driven leader to serve as Athletic Director / Director of Operations . This role is responsible for the strategic leadership, management, and execution of all athletic programs and school-wide operations across both campuses. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, relational leader who can manage complex systems, ensure compliance, elevate program quality, and build a cohesive, high-performance culture across all sports and grade levels. This position plays a critical role in advancing Salt Lake Academy's reputation as a nationally recognized leader in elite athlete development , while also ensuring a positive and structured experience for all student-athletes—from primary grades through high school. Elite Soccer Platform National-level soccer training program with direct exposure to professional and collegiate pathways Strategic relationships with Real Salt Lake, Utah Royals FC, and City FC Integration into a high-performance development environment World-Class Facilities Access to six outdoor fields, three indoor fields, and a stadium competition field Facilities utilized by professional teams, elite academies, and international clubs Comprehensive Athletic Offerings In addition to soccer, Salt Lake Academy supports: Boys and Girls Basketball Boys and Girls Volleyball Opportunities for participation in additional sports based on student interest and partnerships Key ResponsibilitiesAthletic Leadership & Program Oversight Provide leadership and supervision for all athletic programs (grades K-12) Hire, mentor, and evaluate coaching staff across all sports Develop and implement a comprehensive athletic vision aligned with school mission Build a culture of excellence, accountability, and character development Compliance & Eligibility Ensure full compliance with Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) rules and regulations Oversee student-athlete eligibility, transfers, and academic compliance Maintain adherence to •NCAA guidelines for recruiting and amateurism Manage required reporting, documentation, and audits Operations & Logistics Oversee scheduling of all games, practices, tournaments, and events Coordinate transportation logistics for teams and school activities Manage field trips , travel planning, and risk management procedures Supervise facility usage, including: Practice and competition scheduling External rentals and partnerships Event operations Policy & Systems Development Develop, implement, and maintain athletic and student policy manuals Establish clear procedures for: Student conduct and discipline Participation requirements Health, safety, and supervision Ensure consistency and accountability across all programs Youth Development (Critical Priority) Design and enhance junior high and primary grade athletic development systems Align early-stage training with long-term athlete development models Support coaches in building foundational skills, physical literacy, and love of sport Create a seamless pipeline from youth programs into elite high school pathways Community & Relationship Building Build strong relationships with students, families, and coaches Serve as a key liaison between administration, athletics, and external partners Support college recruiting pathways and communication with scouts and programs Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Sports Management, Education, or related field Minimum 5+ years of experience in athletic administration, school leadership, or program management Demonstrated knowledge of: High school athletics administration UHSAA compliance and eligibility requirements NCAA recruiting and compliance standards Proven ability to manage complex operations, logistics, and scheduling systems Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Experience supervising staff and building cohesive teams Preferred Qualifications Experience in a soccer academy or elite sports environment Background working with youth-to-elite development pipelines Coaching experience at the high school, club, collegiate, or professional level Familiarity with facility management and event operations Experience managing multi-campus or multi-program organizations Key Attributes Visionary leader with operational excellence Builder of systems, structure, and accountability Passion for developing student-athletes at all levels , especially youth Relational, approachable, and highly collaborative Commitment to balancing elite performance with student well-being and academic success Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Leadership role within a nationally distinctive academy model Access to elite facilities and professional partnerships Opportunity to shape and grow a comprehensive K-12 athletic system How to Apply Please submit: Resume / CV Letter of interest Statement of leadership philosophy
