Trenholm State Community College Position Summary TRIO Upward Bound Adjunct Instructors must have the ability to motivate and challenge Upward Bound students and to generate skills necessary for college success. They must be able to help students develop a positive attitude toward themselves and their capabilities. Each applicant must submit a course syllabus stating the goals and objectives of the class and the methods of attaining those goals.
Upward Bound courses include:
Composition, Literature, Mathematics, Science, and Spanish. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Attend Upward Bound staff meetings and orientation. Attend opening day activities. Assist in planning academic and summer calendar of events. Inform staff of classroom needs and make arrangements to order books and course materials. Submit course syllabus . Assist in the administration of practice tests (exit examination, ACT, SAT) Participate in activities involving college tours and other cultural events. Assist students with career exploration and life skills activities. Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree or above. Must be competent in the desired subject/content area proposed. Experience working with high school students and sensitivity to the target population that TRIO Upward Bound serves and be able to assist students with their academic coursework and study skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
A valid teaching certificate where required.
