Job Summary The Social, Emotional & Academic Learning (SEAL) program is designed to assist students who have demonstrated intensive emotional, social, and behavioral challenges that significantly interfere with their learning and progress in the General Education setting. In SEAL students are in a highly structured academic and therapeutic setting with an emphasis on preventing inappropriate behavior (both verbal and physical) and achieving more positive desired behaviors. The program incorporates specialized academic instruction, therapeutic interventions, as well as social and emotional learning in order to provide for the educationally related needs of the student. Students work with teachers, counselors, therapists, psychologists, and other trained staff to extinguish behaviors in manners that impede learning, with an ultimate goal that they may be able to return to a less restrictive environment.
