  • Position Summary:
  • The School of Education seeks applications between July 1, 2026
  • December 31, 2026, from individuals who are interested in securing temporary instructor positions on an as-needed basis within the Family and Consumer Sciences program for the 2026-2027 academic year.
This opportunity periodically arises when a current instructor is unavailable to instruct during a semester in which the course is offered. Instructors teach undergraduate pre-service teachers face-to-face and/or online in areas of their expertise and are hired periodically for fall, spring, and/or summer term, contingent upon enrollments and need. Reappointment may depend upon performance and the availability of funding.   • Full Consideration Date:
  • To ensure full consideration, applications must be received by 11:59 p.m. (MT) on December 31, 2026.
  • Salary Range
  • Base salary range is $48,000 to $50,000, 9-month adjunct.
  • Compensation:
  • $1,666.67 per credit hour instruction
  • Majority of courses are 3 credit hours for a semester salary of $5,000. Salary is paid at the end of each month, paid monthly over 5 months (August
  • December or January
  • May).
  • Supervision
  • This position reports to a faculty member within the School of Education.
  • Required Job Qualifications:
  • + Earned masters degree in family and consumer sciences or a related field. + Demonstrated excellence in teaching and service within the family and consumer sciences field of study (e.g., family and consumer sciences education, personal and family finance).
  • Preferred Job Qualifications:
  • + Earned doctoral degree in family and consumer sciences or a related field. + Successful P-12 and/or post-secondary education teaching/training experience. + Evidence of collaboration with public school teachers and administrators.
