Overview We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Middle School Religion and Social Studies Teacher to inspire and educate students in grades six through eight. This role offers an exciting opportunity to foster critical thinking, cultural awareness, and moral development through engaging curriculum delivery. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for teaching teenagers, expertise in social sciences and religious studies, and a commitment to creating an inclusive, stimulating classroom environment. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in religion and social studies, incorporating innovative instructional strategies and educational technology. Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect for diverse perspectives. Utilize varied teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles, ensuring all students can access the curriculum effectively. Integrate IT tools and digital resources to enhance lesson engagement and support interactive learning experiences. Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, providing timely feedback and tailored instructional support. Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects, curriculum planning, and school initiatives to promote cohesive educational experiences. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student development, behavior management strategies, and academic achievements. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Sciences, Religious Studies or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications preferred. Proven classroom management skills with experience teaching middle school students in diverse settings. Strong knowledge of curriculum development, AP style writing, copy editing, and instructional design principles. Familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style, linguistics concepts, literacy education, and standardized testing procedures. Experience implementing IT-integrated lessons using educational technology platforms; adept at adapting lessons for various learning styles. Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to mentor students effectively and collaborate with colleagues. Knowledge of educational compliance regulations, special education needs, behavior management techniques, and higher education teaching practices is highly desirable. Prior experience working in private or independent schools is advantageous; familiarity with Montessori or other specialized pedagogies is a plus. Pay:
$30,300.00 - $33,000.00 per year
