Job Summary The Part-Time History Instructor must demonstrate excellence in teaching and have a commitment to integrating new technologies in the learning process. The candidate must also have the ability to inspire, motivate, and empower students to succeed. The responsibilities for this position include teaching assigned courses, preparing and delivering lectures in a face-to-face and/or online environment, leading and moderating classroom discussions and contributing to the department's activities. Sponsorship is not available for this position. Responsibilities Deliver lectures, prepare course materials, and facilitate learning experiences for the students in the department. Demonstrate knowledge of the subject matter. Maintain accurate and timely records of students grades and attendance. Participate in departmental and university activities. Follow established expectations and protocols for the department. Required Qualifications Master's Degree in History or related discipline, or Master's Degree with 18 hours of History courses at the graduate level. College Teaching Experience. Preferred Qualifications PhD candidates with experience may be considered for upper division courses. Proposed Salary Salary is based upon per credit hour rate depending upon degree. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to convey ideas clearly. Experience working with a diverse student population, including first generation students. Ability to integrate technology into the classroom environment (learning management systems, digital tools, and online resources). Capability to assess and develop students' academic skills.
