Middle & Upper School Social Studies Teacher Part time Salary range: $20,000-25,000 Beginning August 2026 Overview Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy (HBHA) is an ISACS-accredited, independent K-12 Jewish day school located in Overland Park, Kansas. Brief Description of Role We are seeking a Middle and Upper School Social Studies Teacher to join our team of excellent educators. The MS/US Social Studies Teacher will collaborate with teachers, students, and administrators to deliver an excellent academic experience aligned with the school's mission and to create a collaborative, respectful learning environment. Our ideal candidate will create a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment where students can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. The teacher will deliver instruction aligned with state and National Standards in Social Studies, support diverse learners, and foster a love of learning and report directly to the Principals of HBHA. This will be a part-time position. Responsibilities Design and deliver engaging Social Studies lessons aligned with curriculum standards in grades 6-12. Facilitate hands-on learning experiences, experiments, and design challenges Encourage creativity, collaboration, and inquiry-based learning Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs and learning styles Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback Maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom environment Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and support staff Qualifications Education degree, Gifted Education background preferred, and teaching license preferred Preferred Qualities in a Candidate We are looking for candidates who are: Thoughtful, reflective educators and life-long learners.
