Upper School AP Business and Macroeconomics Teacher at St. Paul's School for Girls Jun 17 2026 The St. Paul's Schools is pleased to announce an opening for a full-time upper school AP Business and AP Macroeconomics teacher at St. Paul's School for Girls for the 2026-2027 school year. School Overview The St. Paul's Schools is a family of independent schools in Baltimore County, Maryland. Serving children from infancy through grade 12, our three schools share a 120-acre campus, an Episcopal tradition, and a focus on developing confident, well-balanced students who will use their education and ethics to improve the world. Position Description At our school, learning extends far beyond textbooks and exams. We are seeking an enthusiastic, student-centered educator to teach AP Macroeconomics and AP Business with Personal Finance courses while helping students connect classroom concepts to the real world. If you love discussing market trends, exploring why economies succeed, debating current events, and helping students launch big ideas, this may be the perfect opportunity. Our students are curious, ambitious, and eager to engage with authentic challenges. We are looking for a teacher who can bring economics and business to life through simulations, case studies, entrepreneurial thinking, spirited discussion, and hands-on learning experiences. What You'll Do Teach AP Macroeconomics and upper-level Business courses, including AP Business with Personal Finance. Create engaging lessons that connect economic theory and business principles to current events and real-world applications. Design learning experiences that encourage critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving including using simulations, projects, debates, and case studies to make learning memorable and meaningful. Prepare students for success on AP exams while nurturing a genuine appreciation for economics and business. Foster a classroom culture where students feel challenged, supported, and inspired to take intellectual risks. Sponsor clubs, coach, lead trips, support student ventures, or contribute to extracurricular programs that align with your interests and talents. Participate fully in the life of the school, from community events and celebrations to interdisciplinary initiatives and special programs. Key Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Education, or a related field is required with a Master's degree preferred. Experience teaching AP level courses, preferably in an independent school setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with entrepreneurship programs, financial literacy initiatives, or project-based learning Beyond classroom instruction, we fully embrace the teacher/coach model at The St. Paul's Schools and are excited about the vital role our faculty play in our community. The St. Paul's Schools has a compensation scale based on direct years of experience and degree held. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate's years of experience, education and skills. For this opportunity, our salary range is $55,000 to $75,000 annually. Candidates with additional experience or qualifications may be offered a salary outside of the range shown.
