Jennings Community School utilizes an interdisciplinary instructional model in which teachers integrate multiple academic disciplines into meaningful, standards-aligned learning experiences. Teacher (Advisors) are responsible for planning, delivering, assessing, and documenting instruction aligned with Minnesota Academic Standards in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education, and the Arts . Rather than teaching academic subjects exclusively in isolation, Teacher (Advisors) design interdisciplinary seminars, projects, experiential learning opportunities, and individualized learning experiences that allow students to demonstrate proficiency across multiple content areas and standards. Teacher (Advisors) also build strong relationships with students and families, develop individualized learning plans, facilitate project-based and experiential learning, and provide academic, social-emotional, and career guidance. At Jennings Community School, teachers serve as both licensed educators and facilitators of learning , helping students discover their strengths, pursue their interests, meet Minnesota Academic Standards, earn academic credit, and achieve meaningful academic and personal goals.
