Full Time 10 Months Our School Cristo Rey Research Triangle High School is a 9-12 Catholic, Jesuit community that welcomes students of all faiths and is committed to preparing students for college and life through rigorous academic and professional work study programs. As part of the nation's largest network supporting youth from families with limited economic resources, we began our journey in 2021. Job Description Cristo Rey Research Triangle High School is hiring a Humanities Teacher - Social Studies who is committed to the academic growth and holistic development of every student. In this full-time, ten-month position, the Humanities Teacher - Social Studies is responsible for delivering a rigorous, college preparatory Social Studies curriculum that develops students' historical thinking, civic literacy, and analytical writing skills. Teachers at CRRTHS hold high academic standards — including college-level writing expectations — while building warm, affirming relationships with students and families. Teachers have the opportunity to teach AP courses within their discipline and are encouraged to grow into those roles. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: In the Classroom Prepare lesson plans, provide instruction and feedback to students, assess and evaluate student mastery of concepts and skills, and build a positive classroom culture that holds students accountable to school and classroom expectations Design and implement a rigorous college preparatory curriculum that develops students' historical thinking, primary source analysis, civic literacy, and analytical writing skills Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of a diverse student population, including English language learners and students requiring academic support Use data to inform instructional decisions and monitor student progress toward mastery Communicate proactively with students, families, and colleagues regarding student progress and areas of growth School Community Collaborate with fellow Humanities teachers and instructional leaders to align curriculum, share best practices, and continuously improve student outcomes Participate in professional development, instructional rounds, and feedback cycles with a growth mindset Support the school's Jesuit mission by contributing to a loving, joyful, and justice-oriented school culture Engage in school-wide events, activities, and initiatives that strengthen the CRRTHS community Qualifications Successful applicants will embody mission-commitment, intellectual curiosity, openness to growth, and optimism. In addition, they will meet or exceed the following requirements: A bachelor's degree in History, Social Studies, Political Science, or a related field A strong work ethic and deep commitment to the Cristo Rey mission and values: Faith and Justice, Respect and Care, Responsibility and Commitment Competency in designing and implementing curricula that develop historical thinking, civic literacy, and analytical writing skills Ability to connect with culturally and linguistically diverse students and their families Knowledge of best practices in secondary education Ability to build strong relationships, collaborate, and cultivate a loving, joyful school culture Demonstrated ability to operate with a growth mindset and seek opportunities for feedback Preferred Qualifications NC teaching licensure or willingness to obtain licensure Prior teaching experience with underserved student populations Experience working with English language learners Conversational Spanish is a plusPay:
