Job Description

Job Summary The purpose of this position is to teach History courses as assigned Essential Duties Delivers high-quality instruction Assesses student learning Maintains grades and attendance records Recognizes and responds appropriately to student learning needs Keeps virtual office hours. Performs all instructional-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies, and procedures of the College. Prepares and delivers instruction for assigned classes; manages the adult classroom. Participates in professional development activities. Additional Duties Submits reports/paperwork as required and in in accordance with guidelines/procedures. Communicates availability with students in-person, via email, via telephone, etc. Assists with recruitment and retention of students. Other duties as needed. Supervisory Responsibilities None.
Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience:
Master's degree in history or a related field; or Master's degree plus 18 graduate hours in history or a related field.

Specialized Training :
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of general office procedures and protocols. Skilled in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Skilled in communication, verbally and in writing. Skilled in planning and creating lesson plans. Skilled in the organization of class modules and assessments. Ability to input student data and records accurately. Ability to deliver instruction in a way that stimulates intellectual curiosity and encourages independent and creative thinking. Ability to maintain and encourages a clean, orderly, and safe teaching environment. Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to the diversity of student backgrounds, skills, and learning styles. Ability to maintain a thorough and current understanding of instructional areas and disciplines.
