GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Bishop Timon - St. Jude High School, an all-boys Catholic high school serving male students in grades 9-12, is seeking a full-time Religious Education teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The candidate would be hired to instruct students in grades 11 and 12, as well as one section of a Philosophy elective. Timon endeavors to be a school of excellence with the goal of educating young men in the Franciscan tradition. Timon is a school community that lives out the teachings of Christ with St. Francis as our model.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop appropriate assignments and assessments that are aligned to clear learning objectives
- Manage the classroom environment in a way that promotes a safe, inclusive learning environment for all students
- Maintain communication with families
- Attend faculty and departmental meetings; attend staff development and faculty Develop and maintain a curriculum that reflects the institutional goals and Catholic Franciscan identity of Bishop Timon
- retreats; attend Open House and any other contractually obligated events
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities- Well-suited for the ministry of a Catholic/Franciscan education
- Knowledge/Expertise in areas including the Hebrew Scriptures, the Gospel, the New Testament, the life and teachings of St. Francis, world religions, and introductory concepts of philosophy
- Desire and ability to work collaboratively with others
- Demonstration of excellent organizational and communication skills Education, Training and/or Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Religious Studies, or another comparable field preferred
- Experience in an educational setting preferred
