Job Description

IMMEDIATE START REQUIRED!

The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The teacher will be responsible for teaching five 45 minute classes, have one prep period, and a lunch period. Average class size of 15-20 students. The High School Social Studies teacher will be prepared to teach any combination of Social Studies courses, including AP courses. Develop and administer Social Studies education curriculum. Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning. Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instruction.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Secondary Social Studies Education required; Masters preferred Valid New York State Teaching Certification required Proven ability to manage a classroom while maintaining a positive learning environment Strong knowledge in the content area Experience teaching Middle and High School Social Studies Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Windsor School is a private, junior and senior high school located in Flushing, Queens, enrolling students in grades 7-12. Our school is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and a member of the New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS) and NY Parents League. Studio Art:

Drawing or 2-D Design. Athletics include volleyball, tennis and basketball with athletes competing in the Metro League compromised of private schools throughout the NYC metropolitan area.

$60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
