Full Time Integrated Social Studies Teacher:
St. Edward High School St. Edward High School We are looking for a full-time Integrated Social Studies teacher for the 2026-27 school year
Mission:

Teaching Duties:
  • Teaches full-time, including 5 periods (60-minutes on a rotating schedule) and an advisory group
  • Supports the school's Holy Cross mission to shape the minds and hearts of its students through its extra-curricular activities, service-learning program and retreats
  • Follows course objectives of the St. Edward HS curriculum based on the International Baccalaureate's MYP and DP standards
  • Willingness to teach Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate diploma courses.
  • Works collaboratively with fellow teachers to design and deliver authentic instruction and assessment of both Social Studies, History and interdisciplinary skills
  • Maintains classroom control and pupil behavior, allowing everyone the opportunity to learn
  • Works directly with team teachers and tutors to provide assistance and support for struggling students
  • Communicates with counselors, learning professionals, parents and students to maintain a positive learning experience and identify any problems or difficulties
  • Communicates with parents and students by posting lesson plans and grades on a regular basis on the school's learning management system based on contract specifications
  • Maintains flexible hours within contract specifications, providing time before school, during community period and after school for additional help, individualized instruction, mentoring or guidance of independent projects
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated excitement to reach a variety of students of different ages, backgrounds and skill levels
  • State of Ohio license in Integrated Social Studies or History or non-tax teaching certificate
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, Master's degree preferred
  • Proven teaching or instructional experience
  • Successful criminal background screen and Virtus training St.
