CTC JOB SUMMARY
The successful applicant will teach the Career Based Intervention program at Shawnee High School, a satellite of Springfield-Clark Career Technology Center.
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO
Valid/Appropriate Ohio teaching license/certificate in an Academic area with CBI/OWE endorsement, Ability to instruct high school students using a combination of subject matter and experience designed to prepare students for career choices and post-secondary education options. Highly motivated self-starter with a passion for teaching and demonstrated ability to individualize instruction and work with students having a variety of needs and abilities in a team environment. Excellent planning, organizational, problem-solving skills and oral and written communication skills. An understanding of Ohio's graduation expectations and of Ohio Career Technical/Academic Content Standards. Ability to develop positive working relationships with area employers and establish an advisory committee made up of representatives from Business and Industry Documented evidence of a clear criminal record.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are representative of performance expectations. A reasonable accommodation may be made to enable a qualified individual with a disability to perform essential functions. Develop, plan and implement appropriate lessons using the approved course of study/academic content standards/Career Tech competencies Maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by the district Uphold laws governing the employment of minors. Collaborate with business and industry and post-secondary institutions. Maintain accurate records and submit student progress reports to building administrator. Motivate students in setting educational and career goals. Facilitate and guide on-line instruction. Work collaboratively and effectively with staff, students, parents and form positive relationships with business and industry representatives to promote student success and support Actively intervene with students on their graduation pathways. Assume any other responsibilities as assigned by the Board of Education, Superintendent, Career Technical Director, Supervisor, or their designee(s). Upholds the law, board policies, follows administrative procedures, and holds students accountable to their code of conduct. Promotes a favorable image of the SCCTC and Clark-Shawnee school districts and encourages community partnerships that enhance the program and student work experiences.
SALARY & CONTRACT
Placement on the Springfield-Clark CTC Certified Salary Schedule and Benefits Package, starting salary $49,443
  • $87,430 based upon education and experience.
Contract consists of 183 days currently per school year.
