4th Grade Science & Social Studies Teacher Southwest Elementary School | Clinton Public Schools Southwest Elementary is looking for an inquisitive and engaging 4th Grade Science & Social Studies Teacher to join our 4th-grade team. We are looking for an educator who can turn "textbook facts" into hands-on discoveries and help our students understand their place in the world and the physical environment around them. General Science and Oklahoma/United States History Key ResponsibilitiesHands-On Science:
Lead students through the inquiry process, conducting experiments and lessons that cover physical, life, and earth sciences in alignment with the Oklahoma Academic Standards for Science (OAS-S).Social Studies Inquiry:
Facilitate engaging lessons on Oklahoma history, geography, and civic responsibility, helping students connect historical events to modern life.Subject Integration:
Collaborate with 4th-grade ELA and Math teachers to integrate literacy and data analysis skills into Science and Social Studies units.Classroom Management:
Maintain a high-energy, structured environment conducive to lab work, group projects, and civil classroom discussions.Assessment & Tech:
Use digital tools and diverse assessment methods to monitor student understanding and provide timely feedback to families. QualificationsEducation:
Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field.Certification:
Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education (Grades 1-8).Skills:
Experience with STEAM-based learning or inquiry-based instruction. Ability to manage classroom transitions and materials for multiple rotating groups of students. Strong storytelling and presentation skills to bring history to life.Position Type:
