Job Description
Northern Oklahoma College Division of Language Arts / Social Sciences is seeking an adjunct instructor. This is a teaching position on the Enid Campus. Teaching areas could include American History courses and American Government Courses. The position requires teaching in a variety of teaching modes, which may include Zoom and Online, as well as traditional classroom settings. Other duties will include advising and committee responsibilities and may include student club sponsorship. A successful applicant will have a master's degree with a minimum of 18 hours in History and Political Science and strong communication skills. Previous teaching experience is preferred. Successful applicants will complete training during the first semester of employment and complete IT, Advising, and Blackboard training prior to the beginning of the first semester.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Teach undergraduate courses, such as American History to 1877, American History Since 1877, and American Government.
Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans.
Effectively communicate to students.
Guide and support student learning through assignments and assessments.
Maintain a positive and professional classroom environment.
Guide students through the advising process.
Participate on committees as assigned.
Areas of Knowledge and Expertise Include:
Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the relevant field. (History and Political Science)
Strong communication, interpersonal, and instructional skills.
Previous teaching experience (preferred).
Subject to satisfactory Fair Credit Reporting Act Disclosure which includes a criminal background check.
