Job Description

Chichester School District is seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Social Studies Teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 School Year. We are looking for a candidate who takes pride in their work and creates a creative, engaging, and student-centered learning environment . The ideal candidate will have a passion for social studies and a strong commitment to providing informative, relevant, and dynamic instruction to a diverse group of high school students. This individual will analyze students' academic needs and prepare them for college, career, and civic success. The Social Studies Teacher will plan and teach curriculum-aligned courses and collaborate with colleagues while encouraging the potential in every student. This teacher will be responsible for the overall coordination of instruction in their subject area, including executing well-developed lesson plans, accurately assessing student progress, and actively participating in school and district functions.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
3-5 years of relevant classroom teaching experience at the high school level, with an understanding of adolescent developmental, social, and academic needs Bachelor's degree required ; advanced degree preferred Current PA Secondary Social Studies Certification (7-12) Demonstrated understanding of educational technology integration in the classroom Demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional strategies for diverse learning styles and abilities Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including presentation, listening, and observational skills Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, volunteers, and administrators from diverse backgrounds Ability to navigate challenging situations with discretion and diplomacy Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Passion for improving student outcomes and well-being Commitment to ongoing professional development and best instructional practices Willingness to be an active, enthusiastic member of the Chichester community
WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR US
Plan, develop, and deliver curriculum aligned with Chichester standards and best practices Assess students regularly and use data to drive instruction, remediation, and enrichment Actively engage students through discussion, inquiry-based learning, project-based learning, cooperative activities, and critical analysis Support students in developing essential skills such as critical thinking, communication, civic responsibility, and empathy Integrate technology seamlessly into instruction, including use of a learning management system Communicate students' progress toward academic goals and collaborate with parents and school personnel to provide instructional and emotional support
