Description Walla Walla Community College (WWCC) seeks to develop applicant pools for adjunct faculty to teach course offerings throughout the 2026-2027 academic year . WWCC offers opportunities for adjunct faculty to teach courses at all of our campuses: Walla Walla, Clarkston, Washington State Penitentiary, Coyote Ridge Corrections Center, as well as online/remotely (please see required qualifications for approved remote states). Part-time/temporary adjunct faculty positions offer flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of adult students in achieving their educational goals. WWCC offers a wide range of opportunities in extended learning, dual-credit alternative high school, workplace learning, outreach learning, and personal enrichment programs. WWCC accepts applications for adjunct faculty positions on a continuous basis, though it does not necessarily imply that there are immediate openings. Applicants who meet the required minimum qualifications and submit a complete application with all required components will become part of the standing pool which the College will draw on as scheduling needs dictate. Qualified candidates are encouraged to submit materials at any time. Walla Walla Community College is accepting applications for a part-time Accounting Adjunct Assistant Professor to be part of a pool of professionals we can reach out to for teaching accounting courses. General Responsibilities:

WWCC faculty are professional educators with the primary responsibility to provide a quality education for WWCC students. Faculty use a variety of strategies and technologies to reach the wide range of students enrolled at WWCC. We are seeking a creative and dynamic individual with academic training and work experience in the accounting field. The relationship of the faculty member to the student is one of teacher, mentor, and advisor. This position will be responsible for teaching accounting courses within our Accounting Technology degree program plus other business courses as needed. The successful candidate must be comfortable teaching in a variety of modalities including in-person classroom, fully online, hybrid (combination of in-person and online) and HyFlex which integrates a Zoom classroom attendance option with in-person and online attendance options. Support for teaching a HyFlex course is provided. Position related activities encompass curriculum development, instructional preparation, student outcomes assessment, advising/mentoring, and community outreach in the Clarkston area.

Essential Responsibilities:

Prepare curriculum and teach lower and upper division accounting and business courses. Develop relationships with employers and community. Participate in outreach activities to recruit students. Provide direction for students with a wide variety of abilities and diverse backgrounds. Manage courses through Canvas LMS. Employ technology tools appropriate to learning activities. Conduct appropriate and frequent evaluation of student performance and provide feedback. Assign grades and maintain student records. Maintain course outlines and provide students with a comprehensive syllabus that includes measurable learning outcomes. Develop quarterly course schedules and mentor students on program options, career plans, and graduation requirements. Maintain an on-campus presence including office hours. Serve on a variety of college and department committees. Participate in special college events including student club activities. Participate in commencement ceremonies wearing academic robes. Maintain commitment to professional development. Competencies There are six essential areas of instructional competency valued by all teaching faculty at WWCC. These essential instructional competencies focus on student success, equity, and teaching. 1. Student Success Teaching Strategies

• Engage in continuous professional growth as well as participate in college life that promotes Walla Walla Community College's learning mission.

Required Qualifications :

Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered at the discretion of the college. For remote work, must reside in either WA, OR, ID, CA, IL, NE, NV, PA, or TX. Master's degree in Accounting, Business or another related field

• OR•Master's degree in Education or other related discipline plus a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university required.

Ability to achieve industry certification in accounting areas. 2 years+ of current, relevant work experience. Desired Qualifications Recent successful teaching experience at the high school, community college, or university level in accounting, business, or related field.
