Job Summary An adjunct faculty member will be responsible for maintaining the highest academic standards in his/her particular discipline. The individual is expected to exercise professionalism in all activities related to the role of academician, including those concerned with the various duties assigned by the Department Chair, and any involvement with colleagues, peers, community and students. The position of an adjunct faculty member is temporary, and is contracted as needed. Adjunct faculty will be paid at a rate of $2000 per 3ILH.

Prepares course syllabi (if not provided by the Department). Prepares instructional materials (if not provided by Department). Meets all scheduled classes on the assigned day /time. Uses scheduled class time appropriately. Makes oneself available to students and college officials as needed. Demonstrates a professional attitude, philosophy, compassion and commitment that promotes student student growth and learning. Demonstrates commitment to the institutional mission, goals, and objectives. Adheres to College Rules and Procedures, which reflect updated Federal, state, and local legislation/regulations and College policy that governs the educational process. Maintains accurate student records for grading and attendance purposes, submitting attendance, grades, and other reports within college deadlines. During periods of planned absences, coordinates with the respective Department Chair or supervising academic administrator for qualified substitute instructors and provides instructional materials, protocols, and directions to ensure consistent and sequential classroom instruction. Promotes and maintains a healthy and safe educational and work environment, free from harassment and discrimination. Demonstrates professional growth and development by updating knowledge of subject matter and using effective teaching techniques. Develops, maintains and promotes a positive working environment among departmental faculty. Performs all other duties as assigned by the respective Department Chair or other supervising academic administrator. Education/Experience:
Masters degree in Art History or Master degree and 18 graduate credits in
Art History Computer Skills:
Must demonstrate effective use of instructional technology and be familiar with current office hardware and software.

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment varies from very quiet to moderate as is typical of an office or classroom environment. The environment is usually indoors in a centrally heated/air-conditioned climate. Lighting conditions meet recommended standards and are provided by direct and/or indirect electric light fixtures of various kinds. This position may require the wearing of personal protective devices for health and safety precautions.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described he re are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to touch, handle, feel or reach objects, tools and controls; and verbally communicate with students and co-workers. The employee may be frequently required to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Independently transport oneself to various campus locations on a 100-acre campus. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, identification and discernment of colors, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
