Faculty and staff members are expected to be physically present on campus asneeded to support the in-person educational experience and on-campus vitality at the University of West Georgia. Depending upon teachingassignments and student demand, this could include the Carrollton or Newnan campuses. Job Summary TheUniversity of West Georgia invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in History in the School of Humanities with a start date of August1, 2027. The successful candidate will teach eight core history courses (U.S. and/or World History) over the course of the academic year,demonstrating a commitment to student success and excellence in core-level History teaching. Responsibilities Teach a combination of eight World and US History core surveys during the 2027-2028 academic year, with the possibility of teaching oneupper-level history seminar in the candidate's area of expertise. Participate in the History Program's assessment work. Complete assignedservice and pursue goals related to professional growth and development commensurate with this position type.

RequiredQualifications Required Education:

Master of Arts in History; M.A. in a closely relatedfield may also be considered.

Required Experience:

Demonstrated excellence in teaching core historyclasses at the college level and a strong commitment to undergraduate education. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues andstudents from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications PreferredEducation:

PhD in History; PhD in a closely related field may also be considered.

PreferredExperience:
