Job Description

The Department of Interdisciplinary Studies at Southern Utah University invites ongoing applications for an online adjunct pool in topics such as Introduction to Humanities, General Studies, and Global Cultures. Courses are taught in an asynchronous, 7-week format. Deliver instruction in accordance with a pre-designed course curriculum, adhering to established content, assessments, and instructional guidelines. Provide appropriate and timely feedback for all course assignments. Consistently manage and update student grades in a timely and accurate manner, adhering to university policies and deadlines. Actively foster student success, with particular attention to the academic needs and challenges of non-traditional students. Create a positive online learning environment through effective and regular communication with students, assessment feedback, and course management. Respond to departmental inquiries and emails, typically within one business day, and maintain professional communication with students, staff, faculty, and administrators. Complete all required training by the specified department or university deadline. Submit all required syllabi and related course materials through the university's designated platform on time. Minimum Qualification M.A. or Ph.D. in the Humanities, Interdisciplinary Studies, or in a related field pertinent to the courses topics offered from an accredited college or university. Two or more years of experience teaching Humanities, Interdisciplinary Studies, Culture, General Studies, or another related field at the college level. Skilled in the use of Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) or other learning management systems. Proven track record of undergraduate online teaching experience Demonstrated knowledge of online instructional methodologies
Salary:
$900 per undergraduate course (1 ICH), $1800 per undergraduate course (2 ICH). $2700 per undergraduate course (3 ICH).
