Job Description

Adjunct Professor of Spanish Hiram College invites applications for an adjunct position in Spanish to teach Beginning Spanish II, a course that serves our students as part of the general education core. Additional opportunities to teach Spanish for Healthcare Professionals, a 1-credit course, and Spanish American Civilization also exist for this position. Preference will be given to applicants who can teach face-to-face on campus Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays following our 12-week term schedule. Hiram College, established in 1850 as the Western Reserve Eclectic Institute, is a nationally respected private residential liberal arts college located 30 miles from Cleveland in the historic Western Reserve region of Ohio. At Hiram, close student-faculty interaction and innovation is routine. The College's distinctive academic calendar, the Hiram Plan, offers students the opportunity each semester for a 3-week intensive course, study abroad/away program, internship or research experience. Qualifications include:
A minimum of a master's degree in Spanish and prior teaching experience at the college level. Adjunct instructors are hired on a course-by-course basis each term. Duties are limited to teaching unless otherwise specified. Spanish courses are housed within the School of Arts, Humanities, Education, and Social Sciences alongside the English and Classics programs.
