The Department of Francophone, Italian, and Germanic Studies (FIGS) of the University of Pennsylvania invites applications for part-time Lecturers to teach Elementary and Intermediate French courses in an undergraduate program committed to dynamic language instruction for Fall 2026. The successful candidate will have a native or near-native linguistic ability in both French and English. A master's degree is required, PhD preferred, in relevant field. They will have teaching experience, with at least two years' experience teaching language courses at the university level using up-to-date classroom technologies. Must have current and valid authorization to work in the United States. Candidate must attend a week-long orientation, starting on August 17. A Willingness to teach in the afternoon and evening is desirable. Applicants should submit a cover letter, c.v., recent teaching evaluations and the names of two recommenders with at least one of whom should be able to address the candidate's teaching. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until position is filled. We expect to conduct interviews over Zoom.
