Job Description:
The Department of Global Humanities at Norwich University invites applications for a Lecturer in Spanish for the spring 2026 semester. This is an in-person position on the Norwich University campus in Northfield, VT. The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching up to five courses (15 credits) a semester. Candidates will be able to teach across all levels of Spanish language, contribute to program retention initiatives, and support student success.
Responsibilities include:
Teaching engaging Spanish courses at all levels to attract students and sustain interest through advanced study. Promoting retention by mentoring students, providing academic support, and fostering an inclusive classroom environment. Strengthening program identity by highlighting Spanish as an integral part of global readiness and career preparation. Norwich University is dedicated to fostering global engagement and intercultural competency. The Department of Global Humanities is an interdisciplinary department with programs in Communications, English, Spanish, Chinese, American Sign Language, and Philosophy. We seek candidates who are enthusiastic about contributing to a collaborative academic community and supporting students in and beyond the classroom.
Requirements:
M.A. or higher in Spanish or a closely related field Prior college-level teaching experience Demonstrated commitment to student-centered teaching and program development
