POSITION TITLE
Library Media Specialist
QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree minimum with Certification in Library Science Working knowledge of computers and Library software applications. Meet all federal and state regulations.
REPORTS TO
Principal or Principal's designee
SUPERVISES
Students and assigned aides.
RESPONSIBILITIES
See job description for TEACHER. Establish program objectives and plan learning experiences. Develop and implement policies and procedures for library media management. Organize media and equipment to provide accessibility for users. Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere. Evaluate the program and/or student progress. Communicate with parents/guardians, colleagues and community groups. Demonstrate proficiency in written and oral communications. Maintain inventories and submit records and reports as assigned. Adhere to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policy, state and federal rules and regulations. Engage in personal professional growth and demonstrate professional ethics and leadership. Shall perform any other position related duties as assigned. Maintain the confidentiality of student records.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary and work year to be in accordance with the current applicable salary schedule .
EVALUATION
: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of professional Personnel.
