As the Librarian (Caloger), you will: Calog a variety of music and performing arts merial in an automed caloging environment where the bibliographic characteristics of the merial are relively easy to determine and caloging decisions are made within established standards; search entries in automed and manual calogs; assign headings to calog entries; select and assign classificion numbers, cree and revise bibliographic records, authority records, and classificion schedules; perform content designion of bibliographic and authority records; perform research in the calogs reference collection, online dabases, the world wide web, and the collections of the Library; and resolve problems and inconsistencies in the caloging process. Analyze and organize standard subject da to determine its relionship to the existing collections for proper main entry, and the need for added entries; analyze merial to determine subject content; apply standard rules, guidelines, and reference tools and established techniques and practices; and participe in formuling plans for changes and improvements to caloging reled issues.
