Job Description
Teen Librarian, Manchester City Library (Manchester, NH)
An active Youth Services staff looking for a full-time Teen Librarian to join our staff.
Plan programs with other Youth Services librarians for children in middle - high School, including the summer and winter reading programs. Supervise the Teen Volunteers.
Collection Development:
Select Teen materials, requiring knowledge of teen literature and trends, as well as maintenance of the collection through weeding to keep the collection current.
Outreach/Bookmobile:
Represent that library by attending events at city preschools/daycare centers/after-school programs, schools (public and private), city organizations/departments.
Staff children's circulation and reference desks, and keep accurate statistics.
Technology:
Use, assist and demonstrate use of library technology, apps and other resources related to children's and library services.
Create displays promoting library resources and collections. Create programs for a future Makerspace area. Represent the library at city and consortium meetings and conferences.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Masters Degree in Library Science, Computer Science, Public Relations Degree, or related; and three to five years of library experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the work.
