Job Description

Programing & Outreach Librarian, Marlborough Public Library (Marlborough)
The Marlborough Public Library is hiring for an enthusiastic, community focused Programming & Outreach Librarian. This full-time (40 hrs/week) professional role is responsible for delivering reference services, planning and executing engaging adult programming, marketing library services, and driving community outreach initiatives. Additionally, the role involves collection management, tech troubleshooting, and assisting in daily library management. Some key projects this person will be taking on is being the Marlborough representative for the One Book One Borough community wide read, coordinator of the English Conversation Circle volunteers, and being the lead on completing one of our FY27 Action Plan goals of developing programs that appeal to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The schedule includes minimum 1 night a week, Saturdays on rotation and the occasional Sunday September-May.
Qualifications
A qualified candidate will have 1 to 3 years of related library experience. Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to positively promote the library while out in the community is important. Creativity and flexibility are a must. We are looking for a librarian who is not afraid to make connections within the community and is enthusiastic with getting to know our patrons. Spanish or Portuguese language skills are a plus.
