Senior Reference Librarian, Systems and Electronic Resources, Bentley University Library (Waltham) Reporting to the Manager of Reference Services, the Systems & Electronic Resources Librarian serves as a member of the Reference Services Department. This position is essential to sustaining Bentley's significant investment in electronic scholarly resources, including e-books, e-journals, databases, and streaming media. In collaboration with library staff and other campus partners the Systems & Electronic Resources Librarian will take a leadership role in implementing, maintaining, and enhancing a wide range of technologies and systems, and will help develop and document best practices for assessing collections, enhancing patron research experiences, and overall library effectiveness. The Systems & Electronic Resources Librarian helps to maximize discovery for users of Bentley University's ALMA/Primo environment. The role will be responsible for managing metadata for electronic resources. The position provides expertise in growing and maintaining consistent access, remotely and local, to the Bentley Library's electronic resources and services. The position requires the ability to work closely with fellow members of the Reference Services staff and library team members, university IT partners, including the Project Management Office (PMO), vendors, faculty and students. The ability to quickly diagnose problems and effectively present solutions to stakeholders is required. The position works with consortium partners to provide cost effective solutions for the integration of electronic library services at colleges and universities across New England Qualifications Master of Library Science (MLS), Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS), Master of Science in Library Science (MSLS), Master of Information Science (MIS), or an equivalent library and information science degree. 3-5 years of experience supporting an integrated library system, platforms, and software in an academic library setting. ​Experience in supporting library specific software, (e.g., Alma/Primo VE and Primo
NDE. OCLC
Connexion). Experience supporting web-based content management systems, products and from vendors such as Springshare (e.g. LibGuides and LibAnswers). Familiarity with library technology standards and protocols such as
RDA, FRBR.
Familiarity with Cloud-Based identity and access management service authentication software such as EZProxy. Familiarity with image-based or text-based digital repositories (e.g., Digital Commons). Understanding of library and web technologies, including, EZproxy, HTML, CSS, database design tools, SQL, Photoshop, JSON, and Excel. Experience with or demonstrated commitment to developing inclusive and equitable learning experiences. Experience in an academic setting that demonstrates excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently, within a team environment, and with diverse groups.
