The Research & Instruction Librarian provides reference services and guides library users in identifying, retrieving, and evaluating information in all formats; participates collaboratively with colleagues and faculty to develop, promote, and provide library instruction and information literacy; and assists in collection development and circulation duties as needed. Essential Responsibilities Provides research support and instruction to students, faculty, and staff. As part of a cross-functional library team, develop and maintain research guides, online tutorials, interactive modules, and virtual workshops with library instructors. Collaborates with library colleagues to create, administer, and access literacy initiatives supporting MBU curriculum. Gather statistics, and other reports, to assist with strategic planning for the library. Serve as liaison to academic and student success departments, cultivating a strong working relationship with MBU students, faculty, and staff. Serve on committees as appointed. Provide guidance on scholarly publishing, OA/OER, copyright, and intellectual property. Participate in professional organizations and pursue professional development, staying informed of current and emerging trends in librarianship. Minimum Education/Experience A master's degree in library science from an ALA-accredited institution is required. Preferred Education/Experience One to three years of experience working in an academic library. Experience providing reference services in the digital and web environment. Experience teaching library instruction or information literacy, including developing learning outcomes, activities, and assessment.
