Job Type:
 Part-Time, 10-Month Mohawk Valley Community College provides accessible, high-quality educational opportunities to meet the diverse needs of our students. We are the community's college, committed to student success through partnerships, transfer and career pathways, and personal enrichment. The College is looking for exceptional colleagues to join the MVCC community. We are currently seeking a Reference Librarian for the Utica Campus Library. Key responsibilities for this position include: Provides general reference services in person and online; Provides excellent customer service: welcome patrons, enforce library policies, assist in opening and closing the library as needed; Conducts instructional sessions as part of the library's information literacy program; Provides computer-related assistance to patrons in library lab areas; Assists with the creation of research guides and online tutorials in support of library instruction and other library services; Oversees library facilities and ensure smooth operations at assigned campus location; Contributes to special projects as assigned; Other duties as assigned by the
Director of College Libraries Work Schedule:
Possible shifts include Monday through Thursday, 4:00pm-9:00pm; Friday, 10:00am-3:00pm; and Sunday, 2:00pm-7:00pm. This is an academic-year position, working during the Fall and Spring semesters.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree from an American Library Association (ALA)-accredited program, or anticipated completion by December 2026 Service-oriented, reliable, and flexible Excellent customer service skills Ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications:
Academic library experience, knowledge of emerging technologies, and experience working with a diverse population
