Duties:
Teaches grade and age-appropriate reading, research and media skills in conjunction with students' voice and choice in learning Develops lesson plans and instructional materials that consistently contain diverse content and genres throughout the academic year Provides a variety of learning experiences so that students demonstrate skills and concepts learned through individual and group performance. Cooperates and networks with other libraries, librarians, and agencies to provide access to resources outside the school. Models' effective strategies for developing multiple literacies. Provides guidance in software and hardware evaluation. Understands copyright, fair use, and licensing of intellectual property regulations, and assists others with their understanding and observance of the same. Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities during the school day Provides a nurturing, supportive, and positive classroom environment that encourages student responsibility, using positive motivation, clear classroom routines, challenging instructional strategies and effective classroom management techniques. Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree with valid school librarian/media certification from RIDE or the ability to obtain Work environment and physical requirements consistent with those of a typical school environment Ability to move about the classroom and building continuously throughout the workday Utilize the computer (20%) of the time and other office equipment
