In this pivotal role, you'll serve as an educational leader within a vibrant school environment, supporting both middle and high school learners on their academic journeys.
What We're Looking For:
Master's degree in Library Information Science (MLIS or equivalent) Valid South Carolina Department of Education Licensure with a media specialist/librarian endorsement, or eligibility for a reciprocal license from another state Experience as a general education teacher or librarian is strongly preferred Deep knowledge of literature, information technology, and digital resources Outstanding communication, organizational, and collaboration skills Ability to inspire students from diverse backgrounds and work effectively with staff
Key Responsibilities:
Curate, manage, and modernize the library's collection of print and digital resources to support curriculum and foster engagement Provide expert instruction in research methods, information literacy, media, and responsible digital citizenship Collaborate with educators to integrate library media resources into classroom instruction Guide students in developing lifelong reading habits and critical thinking skills Organize engaging programs, book fairs, and author visits that promote literacy and excitement about learning Maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment where every student feels welcome Stay abreast of new trends in educational technology and library science
