We are seeking a Collection Services Manager to oversee the daily operations and staff within the library's Collection Services Division. In this role, you will provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to a dedicated team. You will help ensure efficient workflows, maintain high standards of service, and support the library's mission by fostering a productive, customer-focused work environment. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys leading teams, improving processes, and contributing to the success of a dynamic library system.

Typical Task:

Lead and oversee library collections, acquisitions, cataloging, processing, and digital services. Manage Collection Services staff by providing leadership, coaching, and professional development. Develop and evaluate print, digital, and electronic collections to meet community needs. Oversee division budgets, vendor contracts, and digital subscription services. Implement new technologies and collaborate with City IT on library systems and technology initiatives. Coordinate collection development, weeding practices, and Integrated Library System (ILS) operations. Represent Collection Services in leadership meetings and support strategic planning across the library system. Minimum Requirements Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an accredited college or university or a closely related field of study. Five (5) years of full-time equivalent experience in Cataloging, Acquisitions, Collection Management, Digital Services, or a closely related field. Three (3) years of supervisory experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered for this position. Must successfully pass a background check prior to any offer of employment or promotion. Additional Requirements The incumbent may be considered "essential personnel" during City emergency situations or at the direction of the City Manager, which may include long hours and unusual schedules.
