Librarian

Job Summary :

The Shepherdstown Public Library is seeking applicants for a part-time librarian to contribute enthusiasm and knowledge to our library community. This position will report directly to the Library Director and work 22.5 hours a week with a varied schedule that will include some weekends.

Essential functions:

• Assist patrons with locating resources and materials in both Adult and Children services.
• Plan, lead and coordinate Adult programming for the library - book clubs, digital literacy, and community outreach.
• Coordinate with local organizations and other libraries for programs and collaboration.
• Share knowledge, and understanding of library materials, both print and electronic.
• Assist with children's programming including storytimes, as needed.
• Coordinate meeting room calendar.
• Help troubleshoot and maintain technology issues throughout the building.
• Help to maintain website and social media as needed.
• Assist with Adult collection development Ideal candidate will have:

MLS/MLIS

degree from ALA accredited university.

• Experience in public library or school library setting.
• Friendly and engaging customer service skills.
• Has good organization and communication skills.
• Ability to work well with others and shows respect for all.
• Highly experienced with a variety of technology and able to guide and teach users.

Pay:

$22.00 - $25.00 per hour
