Work with the Director of Learning Media Services to manage and coordinate the technology needs of all Plano ISD libraries, including the maintenance and development of the Integrated Library System, web-based resources and leads projects and training efforts in these areasQualifications:
Education/Certification:
Master's Degree preferred, MA, MS (Library Science), M.L.S or M.L.I.S.Texas Library Resources Certification Special Knowledge/Skills:
Administrative experience with integrated library automation Experience in technology, curriculum, and staff development Experience in district-level leadership, teaching, project management, and school librarianship (preferred)Experience:
Two or more years of relevant systems experience Two years as a public school librarian (preferred)Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Automation Serve as systems administrator for the library automation system; responsible for functionality, documentation, training, custom reports, implementation, and use Keep current on technology changes as they apply to the library automation system Provide documentation on policies and procedures related to the automation system Supervise inventory for building library resources Online Resources Manage licenses, access and statistics for Plano ISD's library databases Assist in the planning, implementation and use of online resources Assist librarians and staff at all locations to evaluate, maintain and troubleshoot access to Plano ISD's electronic resources Create documentation and provide training on resources Act as content and technical liaison with online resource vendors Training/Support Provide training to varied audiences as applicable to the library media program Serve as a resource person to librarians on automation, cataloging, technical trends and developments affecting the library program Coordinate district-wide training and professional development for librarians and other staff on library technology Work with the curriculum in merging library resources with learner objectives Other Coordinate efforts of central library processors in the various steps of data entry, Bar code matching, and database management for the library automation system Create MARC records as needed for books and other materials to be included in the central database Coordinate the integration of technology into the library program Compile statistical data to develop reports on topics such as online resource usage, online catalog usage, and collection age Work collaboratively with all library staff, Instructional Technology and other district areas Perform additional responsibilities, tasks, and duties as determined by the Director of Learning Media Services Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible and be a role model for all district staff and students Follow all rules, regulations, and policies of Plano ISD and follow directives from supervisor Follow attendance policy as assigned by supervisor Perform other functions that may be assigned by the Administration and/or supervisorSupervisory Responsibilities:
