Job Description
The Student Worker position for the Jones School of Law's Technical Services assists with the daily operations, organization, and maintenance of the Faulkner Law Library. This position supports library staff by performing a variety of tasks related to processing books and all physical materials, requiring strong attention to detail. While this job is closely supervised, the student is able to build their own schedule anytime between the hours of Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Student workers perform duties throughout the law library in both public and staff areas. The position requires maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor while working in an academic environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the Technical Services Department Create copies both daily and weekly and are filed away Pull sets of books from shelves, replacing them with newer material Learn and apply the Library of Congress classification system Shelf read in each collection for accuracy Drive the golf cart to pick up the mail and distribute appropriately Other responsibilities as needed in theTechnical Services Department Qualifications:
Current student in good academic standing Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and consistently Dependable attendance and punctuality Ability to perform light physical tasks, including standing, bending, reaching, pushing carts, and lifting library materialsFor Initial Application Submit:
