POSITION DESCRIPTION

Full-Time Non-Exempt- 40 hours per week
Schedule:
Day, evening, and weekend hours. Schedule will be adjusted in response to changing operational needs.

None Position Summary:
The Computer Lab Assistant provides library service by efficiently assisting patrons with lab computer software and internet searches, processing print jobs, collecting printing fees and processing them appropriately. The Computer Lab Assistant is responsible for notifying appropriate Information Technology personnel regarding lab hardware or system problems either verbally or in writing.
Physical Requirements:
The physical requirements are typical of an office environment and include sitting, standing, bending, walking, reaching, pushing/ pulling carts weighing over 100 lbs., lifting items weighting up to 50 lbs. and looking at a computer screen for long periods.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED, with some post-secondary education preferred Experience working with

Duties and Responsibilities:
It is the responsibility of every employee of the Tuscaloosa Public Library (TPL) to perform duties necessary to ensure that the Library operates in a professional, efficient and effective manner at all times. Primary Duties:
Provide patrons and visitors with assistance and information related to library services, fees, and procedures Working with Microsoft Word and other Microsoft Office programs in a Windows 7 environment Work with patrons on internet websites as well as search techniques.
