Job Description

Garfield County Public Library District has an opening for a 20-hour/week Library Assistant at our Parachute Branch .

20 hours per week
Hourly Rate:
$21.12-$25.67 The regular work schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday , with each shift consisting of 5 hours :
Monday:
Opening shift beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Tuesday:
Closing shift ending at 6:15 p.m.
Wednesday:
Scheduled 5-hour shift
Saturday:
Scheduled 5-hour shift, serving as the anchor for Saturday coverage In addition, the selected candidate will be required to work one Friday each month to attend mandatory staff meetings. This position also requires flexibility in scheduling to meet the operational needs of the library. Primary Responsibilities The primary responsibilities of this role include staffing the Circulation Desk and providing excellent patron service by assisting library visitors, checking materials in and out, answering questions, and supporting day-to-day library operations.
Additional duties include:
Assisting patrons with checking materials in and out Processing holds and transfers Collecting, sorting, and shelving library materials Providing technology assistance to patrons Answering reference questions and offering readers' advisory services Assisting with interlibrary loans Creating and maintaining library displays Supporting daily opening and closing procedures Performing related duties as assigned What We're Looking For Candidates should demonstrate our core competencies of: Customer Service Adaptability/Flexibility Initiative Teamwork Communication Integrity As well as job-specific strengths in: Attention to Detail Collaboration Compassion Technology Literacy Our Core Values Community
